About
Independent scientific expert specializing in molecular biology, gene therapy platforms, and omics technologies. Provides objective, evidence-based analysis of complex biological data, experimental design, and mechanistic plausibility to support legal, governance, and investment decision-making. Expertise is strictly scientific and technical; no legal or medical advice is provided.
Jonathan Briรจre, M.Sc., is an independent scientific expert specializing in molecular biology, gene therapy platforms, and omics-based technologies. He provides objective, evidence-based scientific analysis to support counsel, tribunals, boards, and investors in matters involving complex biological evidence, experimental methodology, and mechanistic plausibility.
He brings advanced expertise in viral vector biology (AAV, lentiviral, HSV), CRISPR-based genome editing, cell engineering, and the interpretation of genomics, transcriptomics, and integrated omics data. His work focuses on scientific rigor, critique of experimental design and controls, and evaluation of the strengths, limits, and uncertainties of biological evidence.
Jonathan has professional experience within the National Research Council of Canada, where he contributes to translational research in human health therapeutics and collaborates with multidisciplinary scientific and industrial partners. He has also published on ethical, data governance, and cybersecurity challenges associated with big data and genomics, including issues of privacy and responsible innovation.
In addition to platform and technology assessment, his expertise includes mechanistic analysis of endocrine and neuroendocrine pathways, epigenetic regulation, fertility-related biological mechanisms, and the temporal plausibility of biological effects in response to interventions or exposures. His advisory work is strictly limited to scientific and technical matters. He does not provide legal, medical, or clinical advice.
Disclaimer: All expert and advisory services are provided strictly in a personal and independent capacity. These activities are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or conducted on behalf of the National Research Council of Canada, and do not reflect the views or positions of the Government of Canada.
